Welcome to WF Live: if it's happening, we want you to know!

The Wakefield District – the city itself, the Five Towns, and communities in the south-east and the west – is a thriving centre for arts, entertainment, places to go and things to do.

Our aim is for WF Live to be a comprehensive guide to what's going on and where across the district (and a little farther afield if it's worth knowing about).

As well as being a 'what's on' website, we'll have in-depth previews, reviews and comment, features on people and groups who are making an impact or doing interesting things, and images which capture events or picture the best of the area.

As a completely independent site, we are free to cover what we choose in an honest way, but we welcome suggestions on what to include and we definitely want you to tell us about your events so we can help promote them.

So, enjoy what you find here – and feel free to get in touch.
